Universal Desktop Installation Overview

Universal Desktop is downloaded and installed through the Travelport Admin Portal.

Important: If you are a Citrix or Microsoft Terminal Services user, see your Citrix administrator for new software releases.

There are several methods of installing Universal Desktop on your workstation:

  • Install a new version from the Travelport Admin Portal.

  • Update an existing installation (with a ‘push’ from your system administrator), which can occur in one of the following ways.

    • When launching the application (being given the option to install the update now, or install it later)

    • Within the application while in use (the update downloads and you must restart)

    • At a date and time prescribed by your system administrator.

  • Uninstall the old version of Universal Desktop, then install a new version from the Travelport Admin Portal.

Note: Installation of Universal Desktop is not required in order for an Administrator to create other users.
